Space weather alerts
A notification on this device when a geomagnetic storm starts, a solar flare erupts, or a shock in the solar wind passes the spacecraft upstream of Earth, even when HelioSpace isn’t open.

On iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.4 or later), alerts come to HelioSpace’s app on your Home Screen:
- Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
- Open HelioSpace from your Home Screen.
- Open the menu, choose Alerts, and turn them on there.
Not an official warning
These alerts can arrive late or not at all: they depend on the data, our server, your browser’s push service and your device’s settings. For official alerts and warnings, see NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center, which also sends its alerts by email, or Canada’s Space Weather Forecast Centre.
